How much does it cost to store my goods with you?
A. We have a large range of sizes and prices to suit your requirements. Please use our easy 3 step process to determine how much space you need and what the price will be based on the location of your choice.

Can I drive to the door of my unit?
A. All of our complexes allow you the ability to drive right to the roller door of your unit. There is generally a mix of options at each complex, so if this is an important requirement, please specify it when making your booking.

Does the price of my unit include insurance?
A. No. Some companies like to build insurance into your price. However, we prefer to give you the option, as it is quite common for people to transfer their existing home insurance policy to their storage unit (you need to check this though). If you would like insurance, we can provide it. Please check out our insurance page where you can see that our policies are priced as low as $2.25 per week.

What sort of security does Fry's provide?
A. We have a manager on-site during our operating hours. When we are closed, we provide a combination of video cameras, security alarms, security patrols, security fencing and more depending on the complex of your choice. Please check with the complex of your choice for the exact security offered.

Does Fry's provide 24 hour access?
A. Some of our facilities can provide you with this, but as a general rule we do not. Our extended hours facilities offer 6am - 10pm every day of the week. If we believe you have a genuine reason for needing longer hours, we can assess your reason and give you the additional hours if approved. We prefer to keep tight security on our complexes and your safety comes first.

What are the hours of operation?
A. Each facility has different opening hours. To find the opening hours of your desired facility, please click on the appropriate link - Bayswater, Chelsea Heights, Clayton, Fitzroy, Footscray, Frankston, Geelong, Heatherton, Port Melbourne, Thomastown or Tullamarine.

Is Fry's open on Public Holidays?
A. We are open reduced hours on most public holidays. We are definitely closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day, Anzac Day, Good Friday and Easter Monday. You will need to call us to find out if we are open for any other specific holiday. Facilities with pin code access will have regular access hours, however the office may be closed. Please call your facility to check.

Do I need my own padlock?
A. Yes. You are welcome to bring your own, or you can buy one from us. You are the only one who has access to your unit (and/or anyone you give a key to). You lock it and you keep the key. Please make sure that you get a good padlock with over 2000 possible combinations. We will only sell good quality padlocks, and ours range from $10 to $15 depending on size.

Does Fry's Self Storage provide packaging material?
A. Yes we do. We provide a range of boxes, tape, protective covers, bubble wrap, marker pens, stanley knives and more to help you pack properly. By packing properly, you can take advantage of the full space of your unit, which means you can fit into a smaller size and save money. By using boxes, you can stack your goods to the top of your unit. If you would like a detailed explanation on how to pack properly, click here.

How can I get my goods into storage?
A. Most of our customers take advantage of our FREE transport. We can provide a truck and driver to move you into your storage unit. This can save you up to $250.00. Our service is very popular and has a few conditions, so please enquire early to make sure you don't miss out. If you decide not to use our service, you are welcome to bring it in yourself or use an alternative removalist (our managers at each site can recommend removalists for you).

Do you provide Transport?
A. Yes. Our inward transport is completely FREE, however there are a few conditions as listed:

1. You must be moving into a 16 cubic metre unit or larger.
2. You must be storing for a minimum period of 6 months. Therefore, we require a payment of 6 months rental on the day you move in.

If you DO meet the above conditions, you still must meet all of the conditions below too.

If you DO NOT meet the above conditions, you may still be eligible for our discounted rate of $50 per hour (normal rate is $85 per hour) if you meet the below conditions.


3. The truck only operates on weekdays.
4. Your house must be located in the Melbourne Metropolitan Region.
5. Your goods must be on the ground floor (No more than 5 steps).
6. Your goods must be packed and ready to go when we arrive.
7. No pianos, safes or billiard tables.
8. You must provide one helper of your own to assist our driver (more is appreciated).
9. Bookings are subject to availability.
10. Our truck can only hold the contents of a 5 metre by 2 metre unit (10 square metres/27 cubic metres). Additional trips need to be booked. Please notify us if you require more than 1 trip.
11. Our free & discounted transport is only available when moving into one of our facilities.
12. This service is not available to our Footscray branch.
13. We reserve the right to decline a job even if all the conditions are met.

Where are you located?
A. We have 11 locations around Melbourne with more currently under construction. We have complexes in Bayswater, Chelsea Heights, Clayton, Fitzroy, Footscray, Frankston, Geelong, Heatherton, Port Melbourne, Thomastown and Tullamarine. Does Fry's Self Storage have access to my unit?
A. No we don't. By locking the unit with your own padlock (you can purchase one from us) you lock the door, you keep the key and you are the only one who has access to the unit.

How can I pay for my unit?
A. We accept cash, credit card, Amex (2% surcharge), cheque's, direct debit into our account and money orders. We can set up a direct debit system from your credit card or you can pay your account on-line.

What services do you offer to businesses?
A. We can receive deliveries and arrange pick-ups on your behalf, freeing up your valuable time. We can monitor staff access, with sign in books and key control. If you are storing document boxes, we can provide you with shelving solutions. At our Fitzroy & Port Melbourne complex, we can also provide you with a complimentary board room. In addition to this, we offer Serviced Offices in the same building, so you can easily run your business with a warehouse.

Do you provide shelving?
A. We can provide shelving for a monthly fee, or you can purchase the shelving we provide outright.
